It works by reducing the hypersecretion of water and electrolytes into the intestine without affecting intestinal motility, helping to shorten the duration and severity of diarrhea. This medication is intended for use alongside oral rehydration therapy and should be administered under medical supervision for infants experiencing acute watery diarrhea. Reduces Diarrhea Duration: Clinically shown to shorten the course of acute diarrhea in children when used with oral rehydration. Antisecretory Action: Reduces excessive water and electrolyte loss without affecting normal gut movement.
