Used to manage unstable angina and acute coronary syndrome. Used for reducing the risk of blood clots after certain surgeries or medical procedures. Used to prevent clot formation in patients with atrial fibrillation. Used as a long-term treatment for peripheral artery disease. Aspirin 75mg and Clopidogrel 75mg Tablet both play crucial roles in inhibiting platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of blood clots. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) in platelets, preventing the production of thromboxane A2, a potent inducer of platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. This inhibition makes platelets less sticky and less likely to form clots. On the other hand, Clopidogrel is a prodrug that requires activation by liver enzymes to form its active metabolite. This active metabolite irreversibly inhibits the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, leading to reduced activation and aggregation of platelets.
