Viptin Met is a fixed-dose combination antidiabetic medication containing Vildagliptin (50 mg), a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Metformin (500 mg), a biguanide. This dual-action therapy is designed to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are insufficient, and when treatment with both Vildagliptin and Metformin is appropriate. Vildagliptin enhances the body's own ability to lower blood sugar by increasing insulin secretion and decreasing glucagon, while Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity.
