Paracetamol, the active ingredient in the 250mg syrup/suspension, works primarily by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system (CNS). It selectively blocks cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-2, in the brain and spinal cord. This action reduces the production of prostaglandin E2, which is involved in the generation and maintenance of pain signals and the regulation of body temperature. Used for reducing fever in children, especially when they are uncomfortable and irritable due to high body temperature. Used for relieving mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothaches, earaches, and post-vaccination pain. Used for managing discomfort and pain associated with common childhood illnesses like colds, flu, and sore throats. Used to ease the pain and discomfort of minor injuries, sprains, and strains.
