Diabetes is a condition that affects the metabolism of glucose, or sugar, in the body. There are several medications that are typically prescribed to patients with diabetes, two of those are ertugliflozin and sitagliptin. Ertugliflozin is a member of the SGLT2 inhibitors class of drugs. These drugs work by blocking the enzyme SGLT2, which is responsible for helping your kidneys reabsorb glucose from your urine. By blocking this enzyme, ertugliflozin increases the excretion of glucose through urine, which in turn helps to lower blood sugar levels. It is usually recommended for use in adults with type 2 diabetes, along with diet and exercise, or in combination with other anti-diabetic medications. Sitagliptin falls under the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors class of medications. Composition Each film coated tablet contains: Ertugliflozin: 15 mg Sitagliptin: 100 mg Suggested Usage Use only as directed by the physician.
