Smecta sachet is used for the treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea. It is the medicine of choice for treating diarrhea in children. Smecta sachet controls diarrhea due to its adsorption properties. The medicine is composed of Dioctahedral Smectite which is an edible clay with antidiarrheal properties that adsorbs viruses, bacteria, and gastrointestinal irritants. The medicine comes in the form of a powder meant to be taken orally after dissolving it in water. Composition Each sachet contains: Dioctahedral smectile: 3 g Directions for Use In children above 2 years: 4 sachets per day for 3 days, then 2 sachets per day for 4 days. In adults: on average, 3 sachets per day for 7 days. Use as directed by the Physician.
