The combination of amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, and valsartan in this tablet has a synergistic effect on lowering blood pressure. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, inhibits the influx of calcium ions into smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, increases urinary excretion of sodium and water, which decreases blood volume and reduces blood pressure. Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), blocks the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors, resulting in vasodilation, reduced vasopressor activity, and decreased aldosterone secretion, ultimately leading to lower blood pressure. Together, these mechanisms effectively reduce blood pressure by targeting different pathways involved in vascular tone and fluid balance. Composition Each film coated tablet contains: Valsartan USP: 320 mg Amlodipine USP: 10 mg Hydrochlorothiazide: 25 mg Suggested Usage Use only as directed by the physician.
