Gempid-600 is a prescription lipid-lowering medication containing Gemfibrozil 600 mg, a fibrate agent used to treat hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol and triglycerides) in adults. It works by activating PPAR-alpha receptors, which enhances the breakdown of triglycerides, reduces VLDL and LDL cholesterol, and increases "good" HDL cholesterol. Gempid-600 is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise for patients with lipid disorders who are at risk of pancreatitis, coronary heart disease, and other cardiovascular events. Lowers High Cholesterol & Triglycerides: Significantly reduces serum triglycerides, VLDL, and LDL cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol Reduces Risk of Pancreatitis: Helps prevent inflammation of the pancreas caused by severely elevated triglyceride levels Supports Cardiovascular Health: Used as primary prevention of coronary heart disease in high-risk men (40–55 years) with hyperlipidemia unresponsive to diet Composition Each film-coated tablet contains: Gemfibrozil USP: 600 mg Directions for Use The recommended dose is one tablet 30 minutes before meal Twice a day or as directed by the physician
