Prucalopride works by enhancing colonic peristalsis (the natural wave-like muscle contractions of the colon), thereby increasing bowel movement frequency and improving consistency. For Chronic Constipation: Indicated for adults with chronic idiopathic constipation where laxatives have not worked well.
